Meet the GI behind GutGalz
Hi, I'm Jen!
I'm a gastrointestinal nurse practitioner, educator, and the creator of GutGalz.
For more than 11 years, I've worked in gastroenterology, helping people navigate everything from common digestive concerns to complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Throughout my career, I've seen how confusing digestive health can be…and how difficult it is to find information that is accurate, understandable, and genuinely useful.
Why I created GutGalz
Why GutGalz exists
GutGalz began in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when access to healthcare became increasingly limited and uncertainty surrounding health was everywhere.
I saw how difficult it was for patients to get the care, answers, and reliable information they needed. People were scared, appointments were delayed, and many were left trying to make sense of their symptoms without knowing where to turn.
I wanted to create a place where people could access evidence-based gastrointestinal health information, even when getting in to see a healthcare professional wasn't easy.
But I quickly realized the need extended far beyond the pandemic. There was a much larger gap in accessible health education. Too many people were navigating symptoms, diagnoses, and medical terminology without the information they needed to understand what was happening in their own bodies.
That's what GutGalz became about: making gastrointestinal health easier to understand so people can become more informed, confident advocates for their own health.
Because understanding your diagnosis shouldn't require a medical degree.

Hereditary GI Cancer

Clinical Education & Program Development
Developing educational initiatives and programs that improve how patients and healthcare professionals understand GI health.
Evidence over trends. Information grounded in science, not whatever is popular online.
Clarity over jargon. Medical information should be understandable without a medical degree.
Empathy over judgment. Digestive symptoms can be personal, frustrating, and difficult to discuss.
Education over sales pitches. The purpose is to help people understand their health, not sell them a miracle solution.
No miracle cures. Just evidence-based GI education.
